Newforma Project Center Named ‘Document and Content Management Software of the Year’ at Construction Computing Awards 2015
Newforma, a leader in Project Information Management (PIM) for Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) firms worldwide, reveals today that Project Center has won a public vote at the Construction Computing Magazine’s (‘The Hammers’) Awards to be named as the ‘Document and Content Management Software of the Year’. The award was announced at the Construction Computing Awards 2015, held in London on Thursday 19th November.
This award win heralds Project Center as a superior solution used by the construction sector to collect, store and search huge amounts of documents, emails and notes across a project. Already deployed with some of the UK’s largest AEC firms, Newforma Project Center has been streamlining efficiencies and facilitating an industry-wide transition to BIM.
Technology is having a growing influence on the construction industry. A recent survey of 100 UK-based professionals working for organisations in the AEC sector, conducted by Newforma, highlighted some of the most important factors the industry needs to consider in this new digital era, including the data explosion. Respondents were quick to focus on the need for greater collaboration and the utilisation of new tools as keys to success – but as an industry overall, the research showed this is not being done well enough. As a result, seven in ten (70%) of those surveyed feel that the deluge of project information is holding them back from effective collaboration.
“It is an honour to have Project Center recognised by the construction industry and voted for in large numbers to receive ‘The Hammers’ Award for Document and Content Management Software of the Year,” said Paul Daynes, regional director, UK and Northern Europe at Newforma. “Newforma’s solutions have been specifically developed to help the AEC industry become leaner and more efficient, when compared with traditional document management systems.”
Paul added: “The Newforma approach is to build a more connected project environment, uniquely non-invasive to working practices, while optimising project processes to capture, share and manage critical information. With rapid implementation, Newforma Project Center is perfectly placed to de-risk projects, add value and increase profitability in the ultra-competitive construction industry.“
