Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas + Company Includes Newforma Software in Strategic Technology Initiative
Architectural firm finds Newforma™ Project Center easiest to implement
Manchester, N.H.—October 25, 2007—Newforma, Inc., a software company addressing the project information management needs of the design and building industry, announced today that the architectural firm of Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas + Company has implemented Newforma™ Project Center software firm-wide as part of a larger initiative to deploy new technologies for the strategic advancement of the firm.
The firm’s strategic technology initiative has included the review and adoption of Deltek® Vision® business process software, Autodesk® Revit® building information modeling software, a Web conferencing solution and other technologies, said Nicholas Vlattas, AIA, chief financial officer and chief operations officer of Hanbury Evans. Vlattas and Design Principal Stephen Wright, AIA, rate the firm’s implementation of the Newforma solution as the smoothest and easiest of all. Wright, who is chairman of the firm’s strategic technology committee, says, “Newforma rolled out without a glitch, almost effortlessly by comparison. Training took no time at all, and people were up and running by the end of the first day.”
Wright’s committee searched for a project information management solution in response to problems that interfered with productivity. “Email inboxes were crashing because they were so big,” Wright says. “We were having a difficult time uploading to and downloading information from our FTP site. We were losing time, money and information. Newforma addressed a lot of these problems immediately. As a direct result of implementing Newforma, we have raised responsiveness to our clients, freed senior design staff’s time to focus on design quality and simultaneously reduced the risk of errors and omissions.”
“Newforma is intuitive about the pressing communications needs and speedy flow of information required of design teams in today’s dynamic working environment,” said Jean Kennedy Sleeman, AIA, LEED AP, a Hanbury Evans project manager. “We are just scratching the surface, but the immediate benefit in time saved is fantastic.”
Newforma Chief Executive Officer Ian Howell praised the Hanbury Evans strategic technology initiative. “The people at Hanbury Evans clearly understand how to leverage the best technology available for the advancement of the firm,” Howell says. “Newforma Project Center is helping project team members at Hanbury Evans maximize their efficiency by streamlining project execution tasks such as searching for any piece of project information, transferring files, resolving issues, tracking submittals, managing transmittals and much more.”
