Sharing best practices
Dear customers, partners and friends of Newforma:
Newforma customers are a generous lot. They’ve amassed a wealth of knowledge about project information management (PIM)best practices, and they’re willing to share it. And at least one Newforma partner, Knowledge Architecture, is promoting the sharing of strategies and tactics for knowledge management, a growing discipline in the architecture, engineering and construction industry. This month’s Newformant newsletter offers multiple opportunities to learn from others. Please take advantage of them, and share your thoughts with us!

New customers share their rationale for buying now
You’d think the tight economy would slow software spending, but forward-thinking firms are investing for success. Engineers want to improve service and prepare for growth. Architects want to strengthen collaboration and communication, and enhance client service. Some have won new business. Some are preparing for an uptick in project activity. Read all of their remarks in three new press releases. Engineers’ remarks are here. Architects’ remarks are here and here.

Join the discussion on our Newforma blogs
We invite you to comment at our blogs, where we discuss ways to make your work more efficient, effective and fun. Right now on the “Newforma Blog,” CEO Ian Howell is discussing “IPD:5 Essentials for Success,” and “The Cost of the Status Quo.” VP Product Management Bob Batcheler is conducting a dialogue with Newforma partner Christopher Parsons on his “Knowledge Architecture blog.” And if you have yet to read about “the 4GB pigeon,” take a moment to visit “PIM in the UK,” the blog of Tim Bates, Newforma’s UK-based director of Europe, Middle East and Africa operations.
Online forums provide more opportunities to learn
Our user community website is a popular forum where Newforma users are discussing technical and product questions. However, it isn’t the ideal place to network with other AEC professionals or to receive regular digests of news about Newforma and PIM. To fill that gap, we’ve established The Newforma Network on LinkedIn. Join the group to be invited to webinars, meet other Newforma owners and users, stay informed of new developments at Newforma, and much more. (A LinkedIn log-in is necessary.)
Newforma customers tell their stories on YouTube
Director of Customer Satisfaction Dan Conery has been talking on the record with Newforma customers. You can see excerpts of their conversations on the Newforma channel on YouTube. For example, ADD Inc Principal and Chief Information Officer Jill Rothenberg tells why her firm has renewed its Newforma Project Center subscription for the fourth consecutive year. And Bruner/Cott CAD Manager Lyle Lemon describes how a general contractor started sending submittals via Newforma Info Exchange without asking and without training! These videos are an extension of Dan’s new “Newforma Stories” feature at our community website, newformant.com.
